One way to light a jungle.

Hey guys!

So we are more then half way trough the christmas show shoot. Having a great time :).

3 weeks ago we were shooting in our jungle set. I thought I would show you how me and my team lit the set.

My gaffer Daniel Svanberg used an ARRI M18 for our sun, as our top light we used an ARRISUN 2,5/4K with 2,5 bulb bounced it on an Ultra bounce 20 x 20 hanging from the ceiling. On the left we used an Alpha 1600 with a Chimera and on the right an Joker Bug 400 also with a Chimera. These two worked as rim lights. We also used a ARRi 575 that we bounced in an Ultra Bounce 8 x 8, to serve as a front fill light. In some cases we added a Dedo HMI 200 with a whitecap or 1/4 of CT Straw gel. We had a hut in some of the scenes and there we also made use of it. We bounced it into a polly board that served as a fill light. And we also used a small mirror to bounce back light in.

On the ARRI M18 we used a 1/4 CT Straw gel and on the ARRISUN 2,5K, Alpha 1600, 400 Joker Bug and the ARRI 575 we used White cap gel.

Here is a rough lighting scheme.
